No time to post! Just some June beauty in the fields out the back. I haven't managed to upload these pictures very well, but I don't think they need much commentary:
@ Mondraussie: I have to admit that I have never seen a field so full of poppies before, either here or anywhere else. The field had been ploughed, and then not sown, or sprayed with herbicide. This is the result.
The whippet photos were (very slightly) staged. No cruelty was involved :).
You make me miss temperate climates. And dogs. It's been close to 100 degrees here for almost a month now. That's 38 to you European types, which doesn't sound nearly so hot. We've had massive afternoon storms for the past few days, which cool it down a bit, but also increase the steam factor.
@ Chris: 38º sounds plenty hot enough for me - I get miserable about the 30º mark! And humidity - yuk! Storms are nice though. Beloved Other Half wants to move south for warmer weather - I keep hoping visions like this will persuade him that we're living in the right place already. Walks aren't half as nice without dogs, the way homes aren't half as nice without cats.
I couldn't comment when i wanted to...thank you Blogger....and now I'd like to warn you that I've nominated you over on mine for a little project. But only if you like...
bloody hell, that's a lot of poppies!! and one happy whippet! gorgeous..

ReplyDeleteSorry, what I meant to say was, "pretty flowers."
OMG that´s gorgeous! Good thing the dog doesn´t have allergies.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful beautiful flowers. A fantastic sight!
ReplyDeletePhenomenal! I've never seen poppies so thick. Absolutely beautiful.

ReplyDelete@ Coco: Or us, for that matter!
@ Sarah: It's pretty spectacular, isn't it?
@ Perpetua: Neither had I before. It was amazing.
Poppies are my favourite. So gorgeous!
ReplyDeletePoppies are my favourite flowers, I just have to photograph them when I see them, but poppies with cornflowers, wow, reminds me of my childhood.
ReplyDeleteWatch out for the drug lords! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMwa & Renovation: Glad you liked the flowers.
ReplyDeleteEllie: This would obviously be a good place for cultivation. I wonder if I could get a "rural development" grant?
They are so beautiful, and I've saved the one of the poppies and the cornflowers together - I hope you don't mind?
ReplyDelete@ Almost daily: No problem! No copyright issues here! Glad you liked them.

My God!
ReplyDeleteI thought we had beautiful spring flowers but we are all burned out here in Andalucia. Lovely photos
